Rivers, Lakes & Waterfalls - Brad Lee Dale North

Burning Fog

I sat in the back of the Jeep and enjoyed the stillness of the lake and watched as the fog rolled in, while trying to get rid of my morning breath. The sun was low on the horizon and I could see a faint glimpse of it pushing through the distant treeline. I grabbed my camera and headed down to the water, hoping that maybe Rainier would actually appear this time. A father and son photographer were exiting their car shortly after me hoping for the same.

Once again, she didn't show up, but the advancing fog and diffused sunlight to the right of her was a treat in itself.

Before this point, since the fog was so thick, most other people had moved on, yet for myself and the other two onlookers, we were given a great show simply for waiting.
